Backup and restore

The site can back itself up: content, settings and attachments are copied into a folder closed to the web.

  1. Open the backup screen (Technical block) and run a manual backup before a big change.
  2. Schedule a daily backup: the screen shows the command to copy into your hosting’s scheduled tasks (cron).
  3. To restore, pick a backup from the list then confirm.

Good practice

  • Also keep a copy off the hosting (download one from time to time).
  • The encryption key is deliberately not backed up with the data: keep it separately, without it encrypted data is unreadable.
  • An update always makes its own backup before applying.
