Online shop and ticketing
A complete shop for your site: catalogue with variants, cart, checkout, online payment, invoices and credit notes, delivery, complaints, digital products, and ticketing with QR-code checking at the entrance. Each site has its own shop.
Setup
- Enable the module (Modules › Settings) then click "Initialise": the "Shop" block appears in the administration menu.
- In Shop › Settings, enter the seller (company name, address, company number, VAT), the default VAT, delivery, payment methods and your providers' keys (Stripe, PayPal, Mollie, HelloAsso, PayPlug). The "shop settings" right is reserved to super administrators.
- Create your categories and products (Shop › Products): type (physical, digital, service, ticket), price, product-specific VAT or "VAT not applicable" with its notice, variants ("Size = S, M, L"), stock.
- Create a "Shop" article and add the CMS Plugin widget "Shop" or the tag
[[boutique]]; add [[boutique#display=panier_lien]] to the header for the "Cart" link. - Write your terms of sale and name their article in the settings: the acceptance box links to them.
- For ticketing: create a ticket-type product, then give the "ticket control" right to the door staff; they open the control page on their phone (HTTPS is required for the camera).
- For the customer area (orders in progress, complaints, addresses, preferences, link to My account), create a page with
[[boutique#display=espace]] and add it to the menu. - For a rich product sheet, open the product then "Compose the detailed content (Builder)" under each language. A click on a catalogue card opens this sheet in a window; the card's cart icon adds the product directly. The full user guide is also in Shop › User guide.
Delivery, digital products and right of withdrawal
- Physical product: delivery by country, weight bands and free-shipping threshold are set in Shop › Settings. Tick "Product not delivered" for in-store or on-site collection: the customer then sees neither a delivery address nor a carrier.
- Digital product (PDF book, document, music…): upload the file in the product page; it is stored out of public reach. By default it can only be downloaded and is only sent once payment is validated. Untick "Sending and availability… only once payment is validated" to make it available as soon as the order is placed (trial, free content). You can limit the number and duration of downloads.
- Module license, ticket, service: no file to upload and no delivery.
- Right of withdrawal (14 days by default): in the product page, choose "No" to exclude a product (module, digital content, customised product) and write the notice shown. The customer must tick an acknowledgement box.
- Digital content and licenses excluded from withdrawal: the customer must also tick, at checkout, a separate box "I request immediate access… and I acknowledge that I lose my right of withdrawal". The date of that request is kept in the order and repeated in the confirmation e-mail. Have this mechanism and your terms of sale validated by a lawyer.
- Requests after purchase (complaint, return, withdrawal): for each product, tick the requests and reasons the customer may make online. A withdrawal request on an excluded product is flagged to you, never refused automatically.
- Account required: to order, the customer must be signed in; their details are taken from their account. You can allow guest orders in Shop › Settings.
Selling module licenses
- Selling licenses is only possible on the site that issues them (the publisher's site, with its license server). Other sites do not need to care.
- Create a product of type "Module license": module concerned, number of sites (0: unlimited) and update period in months (12 by default). On the publisher's site, the "Choose an ESE module license" button pre-fills everything, including the catalogue price converted to your tax-excluded or tax-included price mode; an alert flags any difference with the price announced in the public catalogue, and the product list shows an orange badge for licenses whose price differs.
- Leave the "File to download" block empty: a license is not a file. Exclude the product from the right of withdrawal (see above) so that the "immediate access" box appears.
- After payment, one license is issued automatically per copy bought (number LIC-YYYY-NNNNNN). The
ESE1-… key is e-mailed with the instructions and shown in the order's "Your licenses". The customer pastes it in Modules › Licenses on their site. - Cancellation or refund: the order's licenses are revoked. The refund e-mail shows the same negative amounts as the attached PDF credit note. A customer site learns of the revocation at its next check (automatic when Modules › Licenses is opened).
- If the license server is temporarily unavailable, the order stays paid with the note "licenses pending"; an "Issue the licenses" button appears in the order detail.
- The "Licenses" menu block (just under "Modules") lists the issued licenses: detail, linked installations, log, revocation, reactivation, extension of the update period.
Activating and monitoring a license (customer side)
- A paid module is installed from Modules › Catalogue (super administrator), then enabled and initialised like the others. It works free for 14 days from its initialisation, without a key.
- To continue, buy the license ("Buy the license" button in the public catalogue). You receive an
ESE1-… key; paste it in Modules › Licenses: the message "License saved and activated online" confirms activation. - A license is tied to your site's production domain names (each site's master domain) and to a number of seats. Test domains (localhost, private addresses, development aliases) do not count. A domain change is declared automatically; three are allowed per year.
- Each license's status is checked automatically when Modules › Licenses is opened (waiting bar, at most once every 10 minutes). The "Revalidate now" button forces the check. Visitors to your site never trigger a network call.
- Activation is valid for 40 days, then 30 days of grace if the license server cannot be reached: the module keeps working. After that without revalidation, it switches to degraded mode.
- Updates: "Updates served until…" gives the end of the update period included in the license. After that date the installed version remains fully usable, but new versions are no longer supplied.
- Degraded mode (trial over without a license, revoked or expired license): the module is no longer offered to visitors; administration stays available read-only (exports, invoices, ticket control) and your data is never blocked or deleted.
Managing the catalogue faster
- Import / export (Shop › Catalogue import / export): CSV or Excel, with a preliminary analysis that writes nothing, then confirmation. A missing column leaves the current value.
- Automatic translation (1min.ai): "Save and translate" in the product page, or "Translate automatically" in the list for all products, categories and settings. Always proofread the translations.
- For your visitors: category filter with tick boxes (remembered), sorting by price, name, new items or promotions, favourites with the heart, "New" and "Sale" badges, and products appear in the site search. Settings › Appearance: the shop's main colour.

Good to know
- Customers never type their card on your site: they pay at the provider. Your site trusts neither the return address nor the notification: it queries the provider with your secret key and requires the same amount and currency.
- Unpaid online orders expire after the configured delay and the stock is released; a late payment reactivates the order.
- The order list filters by day, month or year, by status, by email or by number; it stays fast with tens of thousands of orders (60,000 tested).
- Invoices are numbered without gaps, per site and per year; a refund produces a credit note.
- Amounts are stored in cents; the shop's texts are provided in six languages, to be proofread for your own vocabulary.
- Your terms of sale, legal notices and VAT rules should be validated by your accountant or a lawyer: the module applies them but does not replace them.
Perpetual licence, 1 site, 12 months of updates. Paid modules are installed from your site after buying the licence; a free trial is available before purchase.
